June Topic – Xamarin 101 – What I Wish I Had Been Told

Xamarin in one form or another has been around for a long time.  But with the recent acquisition of Xamarin by Microsoft, it has become a critical piece in the Microsoft .NET platform.  The ability to write mobile applications for IOS/Android and Windows is now as easy as File..New Project.  Or is it?  Come join me and learn just what Xamarin is, how to get started developing applications with it in VS 2017, and how to overcome some common obstacles you may face.

Presented by William Austin
William Austin is a Senior Consultant with Improving – Twin Cities where he works with clients to help them overcome their business challenges.  He has been a .NET developer since the Beta 1.0 days and has made most of the ‘big mistakes’ during his career.  He is also the current President of the TechMasters group and a Co-organizer of NServiceBus Twin Cities.

Led by local developers, the Minnesota Enterprise Mobile User Group is a place to come together to share knowledge, experiences, and lessons learned with the development community regarding enterprise mobile development, with a focus on mobile cross-platform application development and the Xamarin toolset. Our goal is to cover all areas of the Enterprise Mobile landscape.
