Kick off 2015 with the January event at RBA’s headquarters on Lake Minnetonka in Wayzata. This is a FREE event and a great opportunity for networking and the latest insights in mobile development. Craft beers and food will be provided.

January Topic – Unit Testing Mobile Apps with Xamarin
Unit-testing and Test-Driven Development are valuable tools for the mobile-application developer. As mobile devices become more and more fragmented, testing – on both device and simulator – becomes more valuable. Consumers have high expectations for their mobile devices, and you only get one chance to make that good first impression (and avoid bad reviews in the “Store”). After discussing the benefits and motivation for unit testing mobile development, we’ll delve into Xamarin-based examples of tests using NUnit and NUnitLite and discuss strategies for incorporating unit tests into your project. Lessons learned on how to overcome resistance to unit testing and successfully testing on devices will be shared.

Steve is a Developer, Quality-Assurance Engineer, and Business Analyst. He is currently employed as a Consultant with ITR Mobility, where the focus is on C# .NET cross-platform mobile applications (apps running on Android, iOS, Windows Phone, Windows Mobile, and desktop – but using common C#.NET logic).
